Quality Content is important
With open source projects you achieve lots of goals. But all information means nothing if you can't work with it.
By hosting this website I try to accomplish a task which supposed to be an issue to many people which creating their individual smart home solutions.
Finding quality content.
The community is huge. But most of the issues resolved can be found within forums. They are great. My website itself has a Community Forum where such information can be shared.
The difference is that the Forum is not only a collection of Questions & Answers.
There are rules and guidelines which create then a single post out of an issue and the validated solution.
Creating quality content
As everyone knows how hard it is to get the correct answer for any question it is more important then ever to ensure providing already determined solutions in a format which everyone can easily take and use.
For sure there is not THE solution for a problem but it makes it easier to understand links and options might also exist.
The Community Forum is one of many out there (including the official OpenHAB Community Forum).
But all of them are still collections of thousands of answers which might be correct or are just comments to the given topic.
By creating a real community based Collection of working solutions we can create a valuable space in the web where things can be discussed and solutions presented in a format everyone will love to work and have fun with.
Not a replacement but coexistence
The official OpenHAB Community Forum is and ever will be THE location to get real technical information about any issue.
This blog is more a collection of working solutions, ideas and news to collect. The official forum still is the right place to request answers and technical information. Even more important is the fact that any issue which is posted there will be recognized by the OpenHab Development.
